The government has concluded Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with several countries to provide Indian exporters with preferential market access and to boost exports.
In this context, the India–UK FTA, which has come into effect from 15th July 2026, and the India–EU FTA, expected to be operational from early 2027, present significant opportunities for enhancing exports of Manmade Fibre (MMF) Textiles and Technical Textiles from India.
While these agreements offer duty-free market access, it is essential for exporters to be well-prepared to leverage these benefits. This includes a thorough understanding of Rules of Origin, Certificate of Origin, compliance requirements, documentation procedures, and alignment with product specifications and market standards.

About the Speaker:
The session will be conducted by Dr. Deepankar Sinha, an eminent expert in international trade with over 30 years of experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and is currently a Professor at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kolkata. He also heads the International Trade Operations and Logistics Division at IIFT.
