The global textile and apparel industry is experiencing increasing pressure to enhance its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance. Emerging regulatory frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), along with evolving expectations of stakeholders, are significantly raising the complexity of ESG compliance for retailers, brands and manufacturers.

As a result, several proven ESG best practices—despite their potential to deliver operational, financial, and reputational benefits—remain insufficiently implemented across the industry.
