Underscoring the need to strengthen the industry, the Chairman noted that India’s Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with advanced economies have opened new opportunities for the country to emerge as a key apparel sourcing hub.
He remarked that the coming decade would be a defining period for the Indian apparel industry and urged stakeholders to capitalise on this opportunity. He also called upon buying houses to play a proactive role in promoting India as a preferred sourcing destination.
Echoing similar sentiments, Naren Goenka reiterated that this is India’s moment and requested the sourcing community to support Indian exporters in strengthening the country’s global position.
