The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on achieving the historic milestone of becoming India's longest-serving elected Prime Minister.

Dr Sakthivel stated that under the Prime Minister's leadership, India has witnessed remarkable progress over the past decade through bold economic reforms, infrastructure expansion, digital transformation and enhanced global engagement. These initiatives have significantly improved India's competitiveness and created new opportunities for businesses, exporters and citizens across the country.
Highlighting the impact on the textile and apparel sector, Dr Sakthivel noted that the industry has been a direct beneficiary of several landmark policy interventions introduced by the Government. These include the PM MITRA Mega Textile Parks programme, the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) Scheme, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for textiles, the National Logistics Policy and various ease of doing business reforms that have strengthened India's manufacturing and export ecosystem.
"The apparel industry deeply appreciates the Government's sustained support towards enhancing the competitiveness of India's textile and apparel value chain. These initiatives have helped generate employment, strengthen MSMEs, attract investments and improve India's position in the global sourcing landscape," Dr Sakthivel said.
The AEPC Chairman also acknowledged the Government's success in expanding India's global trade footprint through a series of landmark Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements. He noted that India today got preferential market access through recently signed trade agreements with 38 countries, creating significant opportunities for Indian apparel exporters in key international markets.
Dr Sakthivel further highlighted the Prime Minister's visionary 5F framework of "Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion and Fashion to Foreign", which has provided a clear roadmap for the integrated development of the textile and apparel value chain. He observed that this vision, coupled with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, skill development and investment promotion, has laid a robust foundation for the future growth of the sector.
Reaffirming the industry's commitment to the national development agenda, Dr Sakthivel said that the apparel export sector remains fully aligned with the Prime Minister's vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and will continue to contribute towards employment generation, export growth, investment promotion and strengthening India's position as a global textile and apparel powerhouse.
