The 2025 Taiwan Textile & Apparel Show (TITAS)

On its 47th Foundation Day, AEPC thanks the government for the constant support and encouragement to boost Apparel Exports.
Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) celebrated its 47th Foundation Day at its headquarters at Apparel House in Gurugram.

Silk's Role in Sustainability: The conversation highlights the increasing global demand for natural fibers, positioning silk as a viable option to meet this demand. The speaker emphasizes that India is unique in producing all four types of silk: Muga, Mulberry, Erie, and Tassar.
Wool price enjoys further increase.
Strong demand from buyers at recent British Wool sales has seen average prices received at auction increase by nearly 25%.
Against increasing prices for many in the sheep and beef sectors, wool has also enjoyed a more buoyant trade.
British Wool typically offers between 1,000 and 1,500 tonnes in each of its 18 online auctions held throughout the year.
Sales are made to wool merchants which supply processors and manufacturers both here in the UK and internationally.
Union Budget 2025: Highlights
We are pleased to share key updates from the Union Budget 2025 that impact the textile and apparel sector. This year’s budget brings several strategic initiatives, including:
A 5-year mission to improve cotton productivity and sustainability.
Customs duty exemptions on specific looms to support modernization.
Revised tariffs on knitted fabrics to enhance domestic manufacturing.

"The tax relief is a positive and welcome step, providing individuals and households with greater disposable income. This is likely to drive increased consumer spending, particularly in the retail sector.
However, it will be important to see how this measure aligns with the government’s broader fiscal discipline.
To promote GCCs is certainly a step in the right direction.
CMAI’S REACTIONS TO THE BUDGET 25-26
Although no significant benefit or Scheme has been announced for the Textile Industry as such, I see a huge benefit for the Industry from two angles:
On the Production side, the measures proposed for MSMEs, especially the Micro Sector, will certainly provide a boost to this Sector, especially the increase of various upper limits – though details are still not known.
CITI Reports Promising Growth in Indian Textile Exports: 12.76% Surge in December 2024.
As per the analysis of quick estimates done by the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), India’s textile exports showed a significant growth of 12.76% on Dec 24 as compared to last year while apparel exports increased by about 12.89% during this period, showcasing a
significant upward trajectory in exports.
The analysis of Quick estimates shows that during Jan-Dec 2024, exports of Textiles increased by 6% while exports of apparel increased by 8.4% compared to Jan-Dec 2023.
