Excerpts from the Address by Dr. Reva Prakash, giz India, at Circularity Samvaad 2.0 – World Environment Day last week.
Forward Models and Sustainable Collaboration
We stand at a point where collaboration and innovation must go hand in hand. The goal is not just to work together today, but to build partnerships that last for many years to come. Across industries, we see diverse models — each with its own patterns, cycles, and manufacturing approaches. These models, whether small‑scale or cluster‑based, form the backbone of our industrial ecosystem.
Models and Manufacturing
Among the many frameworks we’ve identified, one stands out — a God‑based model, deeply rooted in purpose and sustainability. Yet, there are countless others worth exploring. Speakers and industry leaders are encouraged to highlight these variations, as they represent the evolving face of enterprise and innovation.
Social enterprises are also making remarkable strides — illuminating materials, rethinking processes, and driving green progress. The market is ready, but the need for forward‑thinking, eco‑friendly models is stronger than ever. These models combine strong equipment, smart design, and sustainable intent.
Challenges and Opportunities
As we move forward, we must acknowledge the challenges — particularly in financing and competition. Capital and political constraints often slow progress, but they also inspire creative solutions. Our pioneers and ancestors have paved the way; now it’s our turn to push boundaries.
Research and studies over the years have shown that understanding these models deeply helps governments and industries make better decisions. The more we study, the more we learn — and the better we can act.
The Way Forward
We have seen progress. We have seen innovation. We have seen collaboration.
Now, it’s time to channel that momentum into action — to build sustainable models that empower people, protect resources, and strengthen industries.
This is our way forward: working together, innovating responsibly, and shaping a greener, more resilient future.
