Covered by Salil Chawla, Director, DFU Publications, while attending this live webinar "Webinar on Terms of Delivery (Incoterm Rule 2020) on 17th June, 2026" earlier today organised by Texprocil and ably moderated by The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL), Executive Director Dr. Siddhartha Rajagopal, a trade veteran with extensive global experience.
He started by saying, "Your delivery in terms of Incoterms® 2020 rules. So, this is very important, in the sense that, in terms of payment and the terms of trade which are there in use, it is always good to get some updates and understand the rules that have been prescribed thereof."
As you all know, in international business, a proper understanding of delivery terms is very, very important for smooth and successful transactions. Everybody knows that. Incorrect interpretation of these terms can lead to misunderstandings regarding costs, responsibilities and risks.
Today, the webinar is designed to provide practical insights into these important aspects. In today’s session, our faculty, Mr. Sudhakar Kasture, whom I will introduce shortly and whom some of you would have listened to in earlier sessions, will cover the following subjects and topics:
Understanding the basics of terms of delivery.
Detailed analysis of Incoterms® 2020 Rules.
For those who are not aware of them, this is a good opportunity to understand what they are.
Costs, obligations and risks under each rule.
Comparison of various important rules.
And, of course, we will have a Q&A session at the end. I expect all of you to clarify your doubts and ask questions. Our expert will respond to the queries.
Mr. Sudhakar Kasture is a highly respected man in the field of international trade, with almost four decades of rich and diverse experience in import and export policy matters.
We request all of you to join, and also nominate people from your companies, so that you will get a refresher course on the various dimensions of international trade which are taking place today. There are so many changes that it is always good to be in touch and remain abreast of developments.
His practical experience, combined with his passion for teaching and mentoring, makes him an ideal person to guide us through the complexities of Incoterms® 2020. Incoterms® 2020 is the subject of today’s discussion.
I am sure that today’s session will be highly informative and beneficial to all members who have joined, and we would encourage you to take part in the Q&A session.
Without taking much of your time, I would now request Mr. Sudhakar Kasture to take over the session and share his valuable insights and knowledge on the subject matter.
All of you are requested to remain muted.
Kindly note, as you would have been seeing, TEXPROCIL has been actively organising many webinars. The idea that we have decided in our Council is to upgrade the skills and knowledge of all our members, both exporters and their teams who are involved with export documentation, dealing with Customs, export promotion matters, import policy matters, DGFT and overseas buyers, and the entire ecosystem.
Everyone is advised to participate in these programmes in large numbers because there are a lot of changes taking place which some of us might miss. This is also a platform where you can clarify your doubts and seek clarification on important matters. If there are more detailed queries, we will take it upon ourselves to obtain clarification from the concerned government departments.
That is our job, and we are here to help all of you.
So, with these few words, I will now request Mr. Sudhakar Kasture to kindly make his presentation.
