FashionForGood

Fashion for Good launches Project FAE (Feedstock Activation Europe) to develop the sorting and pre-processing infrastructure needed to channel non-rewearable post-consumer textiles into textile-to-textile (T2T) recycling at scale. The project is a practical response to one of the most pressing problems in textile circularity: making post-consumer waste a viable, commercially competitive raw material for recyclers.

Led by Fashion for Good, the project unites brand partners adidas, BESTSELLER and Inditex, alongside a wide network of sorters, recyclers, and ecosystem partners working together to turn findings into lasting infrastructure change.

SustainableTextiles

Sustainability Isn't a Cost. Its a Filter.

Most textile businesses still treat sustainability as a line item, something to budget
for, report on, and manage down. That framing is the problem.
Global buyers aren't asking suppliers to be sustainable out of goodwill. They're using
sustainability performance as a sourcing filter.
According to a 2025 OECD study, over 80% of garment and footwear brands now require sustainability certifications from suppliers, with regulatory compliance cited as a key driver alongside risk and traceability.

Sustainability in Textiles: The new dawn

Textile Sustainability: A Structural Metamorphosis Underway
A quick fact sheet
The textile and fashion industry is widely recognized as one of the world's largest polluters, frequently cited in reports as the second most polluting industry after oil, and a major contributor to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, often ranked behind energy and agriculture. Citation: Down To Earth
Sustainability in the global textile industry is no longer incremental (being no more a choice rather necessity)—it is undergoing a structural metamorphosis/shift driven by regulation push/consumer pull, investor pressure (Investments are been seen from ESG lens), and shifting consumer expectations against a background of changing lifestyle landscape.

Advocacy for trans-seasonal clothing approach to scale up volumes and in turn improve/shore up India’s apparel exports market share.
Scale holds the key for success; India must move towards higher scale, higher value and 12-month garment manufacturing to achieve a $350 billion textile economy and $100 billion exports by 2030-31, textiles minister Giriraj Singh alluded to Wednesday while addressing on Bharat Tex 2023 inauguration ceremony.

Renewable Energy Strategy & Investment Planning in Indian Textiles: From Cost Centre to Competitive Advantage

Renewable Energy Strategy & Investment Planning in Indian Textiles: From Cost Centre to Competitive Advantage.

In textile manufacturing, energy isn't merely a utility cost—it's the biggest driver of expenses and carbon emissions. From spinning and weaving to dyeing and finishing, every process guzzles power. Factor in soaring grid tariffs, volatile coal prices, and buyers' strict decarbonization demands, and energy choices have escalated from operations to C-suite imperatives.
Beyond Basic Solar
For Indian textile firms, renewables demand sophisticated planning synced with production loads, state open-access rules, captive power models, steam needs, and ROI timelines.
